  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, software integration, or IT infrastructure support.

  • Location: Onsite DISA Annapolis and/or DISA Fort Meade

  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows Server, and cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure GovCloud).

  • Experience with system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance optimization tools.

  • Understanding of system authentication, access control, and secure communications while working alongside cybersecurity teams.

Role Summary:
The Mid-Level Systems Engineer provides technical support, system analysis, and sustainment engineering for the Spectrum XXI (SXXI) software suite at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)

. The engineer will support system installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure compliance with DoD and NTIA spectrum management requirements.

Contract-Specific Responsibilities:

System Support & Maintenance

  • Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of SXXI v5 and v6 systems across DISA, NTIA, and DoD mission partners.

  • Troubleshoot system software, networking, and integration issues, ensuring high system availability.

  • Conduct system performance assessments to optimize data throughput and processing speeds for frequency assignment transactions.

  • Assist in decommissioning SXXI v5 systems and transitioning users to SXXI v6 cloud-based environments.

Systems Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Analyze and document functional and technical requirements for system upgrades and modernization efforts.

  • Perform trade-off studies and system feasibility analyses, ensuring software updates align with DoD and NTIA spectrum management policies.

  • Participate in the development of system architecture documentation, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and System Design Documents (SDDs).

  • Systems Engineers will ensure system authentication, encryption validation, and secure access control are properly implemented but will coordinate with Cybersecurity Engineers for compliance enforcement and security assessments.
